Here at St. Eval we feel utterly blessed to live and work surrounded by Cornwall's stunning coast and countryside, and as we've created our range of over thirty fragrances we've taken our inspiration from these beautiful natural surroundings.

This week we're stepping behind the fragrance of our new Lamorna collection, delving into the soothing scent of our beautiful Sandalwood & Cedar fragrance. 

Sandalwood

For centuries sandalwood has been held sacred and used widely in meditation and rituals for its calming effects, and held as an important symbol in many religions, often used to represent the casting out of negativity to reveal purity. 

Full of essential oils, sandalwood has been used not only in religious rituals, but also in herbal medicine and aromatherapy. Celebrated for its soothing properties, sandalwood oil has been utilised in medicine to treat stomach-aches, headaches and as an antiseptic and astringent, and in aromatherapy to ease stress and promote feelings of soothing calm.

Cedar

Cedar trees, tall and imposing, have become an enduring symbol of strength and nobility, greatness and incorruptibility. 

Famed for its qualities to relieve pain, aid sleep and encourage relaxation; cedar is used widely in aromatherapy, and its oil even finds its way into skincare products for its ability to calm and soothe irritated skin. A beautifully relaxing fragrance, cedar's scent beautifully calms the mind and chases worries away.

Harnessing the deeply therapeutic properties of both of these ingredients, we've combined the two together in our new Sandalwood & Cedar fragrance for a scent that brings a sense of comforting peace and calm to any space.
