Reduce, Reuse and Renew

Recyclable Dinner Candle Boxes

Reduce, reuse, renew and recycle is our company-wide policy and culture

We are working hard to eliminate single-use plastics throughout our ranges and are on track to be completely plastic-free for our candle and diffuser lines by 2023.

Last year we switched to recyclable cardboard gift boxes for our dinner candles and for our hand soap and lotion gift sets too. In 2021, we introduced new kraft cardboard packaging for our diffuser and scented tealight collection. These changes mean we are well on track to meet our plastic-free target.

This last year alone, we successfully removed all bubble wrap and similar from our despatch packaging, favouring recycled paper for wrapping and cardboard from our shredder for void fill, as well as moving to the use of paper packaging tape as an alternative to the plastic-based cello tapes.

Recyclable Packaging

Reusing Old Packaging

In the Factory, we are meticulous about recycling and reusing packaging where we can. We recently purchased an industrial cardboard shredder, this helps us:

  • To reuse surplus as packing fill for our deliveries which has been a huge success alongside our paper packing
  • Opting to recycle and reduce packaging to help protect the environment.

Our pioneering efforts have been recognised by our local community awarding us Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Champions and inviting us to join the plastic-free business network.

Environmentally Friendly

We are always looking to upgrade and improve our packaging and recycle as much as possible, sourcing recycled packaging as much as possible. We take additional steps by:

  • re-using old packaging

  • sourcing environmentally friendly paper for labels (FSC Certified)

  • reducing plastic use across the company and re-designing collections to minimise plastic and non-recyclable plastics.
