This year we’re opting out of the usual Black Friday discounts, instead, we’ll be using business as a force for good and giving back to one of our favourite charities – The Trussell Trust.

We’ve long supported the foodbanks closest to us here in Cornwall, donating to Newquay, Wadebridge, Bodmin and further afield, but we want to take it even bigger this year. Supporting The Trussell Trust enables us to directly impact communities around the UK.

The cost of living emergency is leading to a drastic increase in the number of people turning to food banks for support and food banks rely on our help to meet this demand now more than ever.

For every order placed on our website this Black Friday weekend (Friday 25th November - Monday 28th November), we will be donating £1 to The Trussell Trust   to support their vital work and your local foodbank.

Recent figures from the Trussell Trust show more emergency food parcels were given out during the April to September period than ever before.

Between 1 April 2022 and 30 September 2022, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK-wide network distributed 1.3 million food parcels to people facing hardship – this is an increase of 52% compared to the same period in 2019.  Half a million of these parcels were distributed to children.

Food banks are designed to provide short-term, emergency support with food during a crisis. They aim to relieve that immediate pressure by providing food, but also offer additional support so that people don’t need to use the food bank again in the future.
